3 Top Tips for Using Your MIF Shampoo Bar

If you're new to shampoo bars, there's really not much to get the hang of.

They're small, light and brilliant for travelling, with no big plastic bottle to lug around or leak in your bag. And because we're not putting lots of water into a bottle and then shipping it around the country, you get a concentrated little bar with very little waste.

Our full-size MIF shampoo bars will give you 40+ washes if you look after them. Here's how.

1. Get your hair properly wet

Really wet is better than slightly damp.

Wet the bar too, then either rub it between your hands to create a lather or glide it directly over your hair a few times. You'll soon get a feel for how much you need and which method you prefer.

Our shampoo bars lather beautifully, so you really don't need to go mad with it.

2. Spend your time on your scalp

Massage the lather into your scalp and roots with your fingertips, just as you would with liquid shampoo. Give your scalp a good massage with your fingertips as you go — it feels lovely and helps work the shampoo right through the roots.

If your hair is particularly oily or you've used lots of styling product, you may prefer a second quick wash.

Then rinse really well.

3. Don't leave it sitting in a puddle

This one makes a huge difference to how long your bar lasts.

Once you've finished, put it somewhere that water can drain away and air can get around it. A draining soap dish or one of our little linen drying bags is ideal.

Let it dry properly between washes and that little bar will keep going for ages.

That's it. Wet hair, a good lather, a proper rinse and somewhere dry for your bar afterwards. Easy. Then just style and go. Job done.
